The company party was a success, the last guests have left – and the next morning the event hall has to go back to the landlord clean. This is exactly where things get stressful for many organisers in Zürich: rubbish, sticky floors, busy toilets and a fixed handover time. With good preparation and a clear agreement with the cleaning company, the hall can still be handed back on time and without any discussion. In this post, we show which details we need for planning, what the process looks like and what to check at handover.
Quick request: send your location, preferred date and 2–3 photos via WhatsApp to +41 78 747 15 14.
The briefing: details we need before the event
The better we know the hall and the occasion, the better we can plan staff and time. Ideally, we clarify the following points a few days before the party:
- Number of guests: how many people are expected? This determines how much rubbish and dirt there will be.
- Floor covering: parquet, stone, linoleum or carpet? Each surface needs different treatment.
- Toilets: how many toilets and washbasins need cleaning?
- Rubbish and disposal: are there containers on site, is waste separation required, or does rubbish need to be taken away? What does the rental contract say?
- Furniture: do tables and chairs need to be cleaned, stacked or returned to their places?
- Handover time to the landlord: by when, and in what condition, does the hall need to be handed back?
Photos of the hall, kitchen and toilets help us estimate the effort realistically. Also ask the landlord about any house rules or handover checklist.
The schedule: from the last hour to handover
A typical process looks like this – we set the exact times together:
Before the event
Complete the briefing, clarify access and keys, check disposal options and name a contact person on site.
Right after the event
The event team or caterer clears away decorations, technical equipment, dishes and drinks. The more completely this is done, the faster the actual cleaning can start. An evening visit is possible by arrangement.
Cleaning
Collecting rubbish and disposing of it as agreed, cleaning tables and chairs, cleaning toilets and the kitchen, vacuuming and wet-cleaning floors. This is followed by a final inspection round.
Handover
A joint walk-through with the landlord at the agreed time. Allow some buffer between the end of cleaning and handover so that floors can dry and final details can be taken care of.
Important: we are closed on Sundays. If your event falls on a Saturday evening, we plan the cleaning to fit your handover time – get in touch with us early.

Frequently asked questions
How early should I book cleaning after the event?
As early as possible, as soon as the date and handover time are fixed. Short-notice requests are possible depending on availability.
Can cleaning take place on the evening right after the party?
Evening visits are possible by arrangement. We are closed on Sundays, and we take this into account when planning.
Do you also take care of rubbish disposal?
We collect the rubbish and dispose of it or set it out according to the landlord’s requirements. We clarify the details in the briefing.
Does someone from the organising team need to be on site?
Not necessarily. What matters is arranged access and a contact person who can be reached. Your presence at the handover to the landlord is usually a good idea.
